Farmers Market
We were challenged to bring into play some classic fruit aesthetics and re-interpret it into a trending textile pattern. Our solution was to create a collection that leans heavily on a hand-stamped textural feel to give the classic theme a feel that is forecasted for A/W 28.
We started hand sketching the fruit branches. For this collection we aimed to give the leaves as much movement as possible.
Concept
We then painted every layer of color separately on paper. Pictured to the left is the lemon branch, the solid lemon fruit and the lemon’s dot detail for added texture.
Create
Altogether
The effect of the painted elements gives the print a tactile and textural quality unachievable with digital painting. This collection is both dynamic and versatile in its use and interpretation.
